HOW OUR PROGRAM WORKS:

The AYPO season is open to students entering 6th through 12th grade in the fall. The season runs for 8 weeks, with league play held every Thursday from September through October. It includes 6 weeks of regular league play followed by 2 weeks of tournament play.

Players are placed on school-based teams and grouped by skill level to create fair, competitive matchups. In addition to Thursday league play, teams practice once a week with their coach. Each week, players gain valuable court experience, improve their pickleball skills, build confidence, and develop teamwork and sportsmanship—all while playing alongside friends and representing their school!

Registration includes:

  • Eight weeks of organized league and tournament play

  • Six weeks of regular league play and two weeks of tournament play

  • One team practice each week

  • School-based teams and skill-level divisions

  • Structured matches and competitive play

  • Coaching, mentorship, and player development

  • An official AYPO team shirt

  • Participation medals

  • Tournament placement medals

  • A welcoming community where players can Play. Grow. Belong.

Whether your child is new to pickleball or ready for a greater challenge, AYPO provides a fun and supportive place to compete, make friends, and grow both on and off the court. It’s more than a game—it’s a place to belong.

Get to know us

The American Youth Pickleball Organization (AYPO) is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating structured pickleball opportunities for students in 6th through 12th grade.

Our program brings players together on school-based teams, giving them the opportunity to represent their school, play alongside friends, and compete against youth from communities throughout Eastern Idaho. Players are grouped by skill level so everyone—from those newer to the sport to more experienced competitors—can feel challenged, supported, and successful.

But AYPO is about much more than pickleball. Through weekly practices, organized league play, tournaments, coaching, and mentorship, we help young people build confidence, develop friendships, learn teamwork, and discover a place where they truly belong.

We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to be part of something meaningful.

Play. Grow. Belong.
